Feng shui in a living room

However most of us don’t treat feng shui rules very seriously, it is very old and advanced knowledge. Feng shui is not only tuition about interior design, but generally about life in harmony with surrounding. It suggests, how to plan the space in your house – living room is probably the most important premises of it.

Location of the living room
Highly recommended by feng shui is south-east direction, but also west, south-west and south are  acceptable. Living room should be the first premises we see after entering the house. View of a place we usually spend time with close people (rest corner) will fulfill us with good energy. Moreover, living room is the center of all house so it suppose to be separated of the bathroom. Feng shui advices that it should be possibly large and wide to let the energy flow freely.

Colors
Perfect colors for the place where we entertain guests and wish to enhance the energy are related with Yang energy expressed by: red, orange and yellow. They don’t have to be dominating colors in the living room. You can simply use accessories like: pillows, bowl, candles and other decorations in one of these colors.

Furniture
Main items in a living room are sofa, corner tile and seats. To make us feel good they need to be situated accurately. Setting them across from the door plays crucial role. Entrance to the room should be located in front of the seats. The door should be visible from seating person’s perspective. Nobody feels comfortable while having someone behind his back. We all intuitively sense it is not good for our mood. It is much better to have a wall behind us, that makes us feel safe and comfortable.
Dissuaded by feng shui is to place the TV in the center of living room, but the fireplace is strongly advised.
Te best shapes for the table (coffee tables for example) are oval and circle. Better avoid sharp angles and pointed elements. Also flowers should have soft and rounded leafs.
