Glass can be used in interior design to brighten up rooms. It is also perfect material for modeling the shape of the space. The subtle features of glass work perfectly in combination with all of other materials, such as wood or metal. Moreover, it is very practical and easy in cleaning. When you choose the color, texture, an appropriate form of glass, suitable to your style, you can create the unique space character and enhance its atmosphere. It is worth to notice that glass is long-lived material. Unlike wallpapers or courtains, glass decorations are durable and expensive so its location, colors and forms should be carefully considered and discussed with an expert – interior designer. What should be considered?

Glass decorations are timeless. Frosted, smoked, matt or clear glass tabletops are a common items in contemporary interior design. They can be composed with stainless steel supports to enhance the modern look or with wood for a textural effect. Other useful glass objects are such as: decorative vases, bowls and candleholders. Finally, art glass sculptures come in a smorgasbord of rich shades that bring color and reflected light into an interior and give it chic look. To enhance their beauty, place them in the glow of a spotlight – let them become a focal point of the room. It is well known that wall-length mirror makes a room appear larger. But also glass panels with other materials on a feature wall can give interesting visual effects.

But glass is material suitable also to those parts of your house, where traditionaly its role was minimal and limited. In the bathroom glass doesn’t have to be used only in shower place. It is good material for vessel sinks or cupboards and many other bathroom furniture, as well. There are many possibilities. For instance, vessels can be plain, painted with designs or embellished with rounded edges – dependently of your taste. Although its delicate appearance, tempered glass, thanks to  impact-resistance, can be used  even on such a „risky” areas like the kitchen.

Furthermore, besides traditional glass decorations on the walls, like mirrors, currently there is visible, increasing popularity of other forms, like glass mosaic that gives the opportunity of making interesting compositions. Instead of traditional walls, good solution are clear (or frosted) glass dividers demarcating separate rooms. They allow light to flow freely throughout the space.
Great element of interior are glass blocks. They let natural light to filter through a room, on the other hand their tile-like, opaque appearance provides you privacy. Furthermore, the multiplicity of colors, sizes and designs and their modality permits creative and limitless flexibility in design. On dividers, they can be composed with other types or colors of glass to create impressive visual effect.
