In a small space every single detail is important: pictures on the walls, light, colors etc.
Small room can make us feel uncomfortable and limited. Thus, how to make our room bigger and more pleasant than it really is?
Below we present you couple of tricks which will help you to enhance your room space and make you feel better.
Walls color
If you want to extend your small room paint it with light, fair colors. Pastel colors and ice-blue are ones that can certainly are able to do that. Dark colors absorb light and make the surface visibly smaller, so you shouldn’t consider using them in your room.
Space arrangement
Basic rule is order. Your room space needs to be always ordered and well organized. Hide all the stuff you don’t daily need. Your shelf decidedly can’t be overload with decorations, books and personal items. Remember: the more space you leave free, the better impression you gain.
This tip concerns also paintings and pictures. Don’t hang on the walls many small items. The best option is one, bigger, good looking picture, tailored to your room style.
While arranging space focus on usability of the room. Important is that in a small room you shouldn’t put big, heavy, patterned carpet – it will “steal” your space! Better give up with curtains as well. They also take the space that you need so much.
Mirrors
It is well known that mirrors make the room space wider. So, it is good solution to put suitable mirror in every room of your house or flat. However we advise against hanging the mirror in bedroom, especially in front of the bed.
Mirror give us great illusion of deepness and brightness, so it gives you many advantages. You can place it for example: near the window, on the cupboard or the cabinet door.
Furniture
Use only the ones that are multifunctional (colapsible table, bed, shelf, coffee tables). Long chain of furniture alongside the wall is wrong solution. Additionally, avoid big couches and generally large furniture. Limit the number of items to minimum. Good choice for your small room is glass coffee table (it will not cover the floor so you’ll gain more the space).
Light
Try to let in as much of natural, day light as it is possible. Remember about the mirrors (they will be helpful) and voiding heavy curtains on the windows.
