Angel
Angel – so named becasue it was inspired by Anthony Gormley’s awe-inspiring “Angel of the North” sculpture which overlooks the A1 on the southern edge of Low Fell in Gateshead. Gormley, like Richard Serrra has always been an inspiration for Tom – especially for his use of steel. The Angel of the North was unveiled in 1998. Tom designed the Angel table in 2014.

	Tom and the Angel
In the Angle chair Tom has reimagined the cantilevered format so popular in modern design. Here it’s updated with a certain softness owed to tapered feet which emulate those of Antony Gormley’s ‘Angel of the North’ sculpture. Each piece, from the softened rectangular dining table to the sleek dining chair, is all curves. These are modern furniture pieces with warmth and approachability, made to impart a design-forward yet welcoming feel. They combine beautifully, though also stand strong on their own as statement pieces. Their sculptural, precise forms carry a natural sense of gravitas while maintaining levity and elegance.
The Angel collection is inspired by art, recasting classically sculptural forms in functional roles. The result is a range of furniture designs which are smooth, curvaceous, and sleek. Combine materials and finishes to create modern statement furniture that makes gathering a joy.
