At Tom Faulkner we design and manufacture made-to-order furniture that is timeless built to last for future generations. Almost every piece is handmade in our workshop in Wiltshire by skilled makers and artisans.
We aim to manufacture our furniture using suppliers and practices that have minimum impact on the environment, and to nurture a company mindset whereby sustainability is at the forefront of what we do.
We have put together this sustainability policy to be consistent with the purpose and context of our business, and commit to the following: –
- Working with local suppliers wherever possible and liaising closely with our supply chain to minimize our environmental impact.
- Responsible sourcing: Buying fully traceable Steel with a minimum 20% recycled content that is milled in the UK and Europe, and rolled in the UK. Buying wood that is FSC certified.
- Providing a framework for setting environmental objectives, including measuring and managing our carbon footprint every 2 years.
- Doing what we can to minimize pollution, and disposing of waste in a responsible way that doesn’t harm the local environment.
- Using as little packaging as possible, and ensuring it is fully recyclable wherever possible.
- Delivering our furniture in a way that minimizes impact on the environment, planning routes that cut down on fuel and miles, and working with our delivery partners to deliver in as ‘green’ a way as possible.
- Making continual improvements in our workshop, showroom and office to cut down on the energy we consume, and recycling wherever possible.
- Comply with environmental legislation and guidelines and aim to perform beyond them.
We will continue to review and monitor our environmental performance and this Sustainability Policy Statement in order to ensure its continuing suitability, and we will implement improvements whenever appropriate.
