Inspired by the volcanic rock formations that rise up out of the deserts of the same name, the Arizona Needle explores themes of permanence and fragility and considers the perfect imperfections that nature creates.
The original Arizona Needle was first crafted in Corten weathering steel (wonderfully recreating the same colour as the desert). We also make it in bronze as well as other finishes, like the ultramarine blue – both shown here. Please enquire.
Why we love it
“I love the geometry of this piece” Tom says “The plates of steel overlap each other and run into each other – it’s not always easy to see where one ends and the other begins, it’s constantly intriguing”
The sculpture has a great presence without being either imposing or overbearing. Walk round it slowly to appreciate its complex geometry and ever-changing silhouette.
