(Bronze) Jak Chair

This special edition Jak Chair has all the formal intrigue of the original design, with the added gravitas of bronze as a material. It’s a weighty edition with an entrancing sense of luminosity. Its solid bronze composition presented the opportunity to create a unique finish across its surface. This mottled, patinated effect is achieved by hand using a mixture of liquids that trigger a reaction of oxidisation. They interact to produce a dramatic, varied display of greens, with a blue or turquoise tint developing in some areas. The surface is then sealed, suspending the process at the perfect point. The edges of this Jak Chair were then polished by hand to accent the piece and introduce an energetic sense of levity. An upholstered seat completes the effect, creating a comfortable place to perch.
