Top Places to Visit in Belgravia

My, how the time has flown! We’re coming up on a year since we settled into our shop in Pimlico Road. Having got to know our lovely neighbours along the way, we’ve become well aware of just how vibrant a neighbourhood we find ourselves in. With one showroom already in Lots Road, we were no strangers to southwest London. Though, it’s only since settling down within the Belgravia area of Chelsea that we’ve come to fully appreciate its diverse offering. From design shops, to specialty grocers, to excellent eateries, Belgravia is bursting with a whole lot to love. Let us take you on a tour…

Pimlico Road is full of design delights, from fabulous fabric houses like de Le Cuona and Rose Uniacke, to artful rug makers like Luke Irwin. You’ll also find tons of furniture shops from Britain and beyond. Carl Hansen & Søn, for example, has their flagship shop on the street. Specialist makers like Cox London are also nearby, crafting entrancingly intricate works of metal, from lighting, to mirrors, to furniture. For those with a penchant for 20th century design, Robertaebasta will not disappoint. If you get a bit peckish along the way, Daylesford is an excellent outpost for a healthy bite, while Hagen makes fabulous coffees, and The Orange will be at the ready with a cool drink at the end of your adventure. If you find yourself in the area on a Saturday, we’d highly recommend a stroll through the farmers’ market, on from 9am – 2pm.

If you’d like to venture further afield, Belgravia is home to a wealth of delights beyond our little enclave. Stroll over to Motcomb Street and pop into Pantechnicon, where you’ll find a mixture of gastronomic wonders and intriguing shops. The commanding columned building is home to a Café Kitsuné, an underground sushi restaurant, a sake bar, and even a Nordic rooftop restaurant. Make a point of ducking into their shops, where you’ll be met by an expertly curated array of Nordic and Japanese clothing, homeware, and sundries.

It’s also well worth checking out Elizabeth Street for its fabulous food offering. Pop into Oliveto for a light lunch, or try their gelato shop, Olivogelo for a sweet treat. You can fly by Bayley & Sage for any grocery needs or visit more specialised shops like Jeroboams for wine and Poilane for baked goods. Finally, if you’re looking to bring home a little something for your pets, Mungo & Maud is a must.

Eccleston Yards

Eccleston Yards is a hub of activity, with outdoor sports and film screenings on through the summer. It’s also home to a couple of creative workshops, like Studio Pottery London where everyone from beginners to pottery pros are welcome to try their hand. For more painterly pursuits, take a class at MasterPeace led by a local artist. If you’re looking for a quick and healthy bite to fuel your wanders, we’d recommend atis for what just might be the best salad of your life (trust us – this is more exciting than it sounds!).
