Into the Woods

Autumn carries with it a certain warmth, despite chillier mornings and earlier evenings. This is a time to gather in toasty environs, animated by characterful designs that bring a touch of the outdoors in. It’s in that spirit that we’ve created a collection of pieces which celebrate the beauty of British wood. Although metal is our first love, we do use quite a lot of timber in our creations, with a small but mighty cabinetry department producing exceptional work. Jason leads the team with his masterful approach to making furniture with a sense of materiality, precision, and craft. Join us for a glimpse into the wonders of a time-honoured material…

Exe Dining Table

Wood is a classic choice for the top of our Exe dining table. The design is based on the traditional refectory table, to which we’d added our own characteristic spin with a modern metal base. In this case, we’ve tempered that with a characterful top of solid rippled ash. We’ve kept the wany edges to infuse this cosy family table with an added sense of materiality and tactility. We’ve bridged the wood’s naturally occurring cracks with bronze butterflies in our signature Capricorn shape. The result is an honest reflection of a beautiful material, treated for a distinct and modern look.

Lily Cocktail Tables

Our Lily cocktail table is no stranger to beautifully expressive materials. We regularly produce them with tops of marble, metal, or Venetian glass, all offering a unique effect. We’ve now expanded our approach to include smooth and sensory oak, walnut, beech, and cherry woods. As ever, we find these drinks tables are especially impactful when displayed in a group, sporting different but complementary tops. We’d suggest combining a few woods to create a dynamic display primed to warm up any evening.

Capricorn Cabinet

We’ve placed the craftsmanship of our cabinetry department on full display in this application of the Capricorn motif. Here the shape takes on a graphic quality, expressed in sycamore and walnut wood veneers. This is a highly intricate process, with the closest attention to detail paid at every curve and corner. The motif wraps around the entirety of the sideboard, extending over the front, sides, top, and even the back. This 360-degree approach makes it an excellent choice for dividing a space, standing alone as something of a conversation piece. This Capricorn cabinet will be a limited edition of six, making it a true piece of collector’s furniture.

Phoenix Desk

Our stable of Phoenix designs has been ever expanding over the years, with pieces from the statement mirror to the chandelier exuding intrigue in various forms. Now we begin a new chapter with the sleek and contemporary Phoenix desk. Like the rest of the collection, its formal elements are found where modern design principles and contemporary craftsmanship meet. The result is an almost illusionistic quality to the bases, which are complemented by a body made of softly patterned cherry wood. The inner workings share the same material, with smoothly gliding drawers meeting chamfered edges set at 45 degrees to echo the metalwork below. As ever, we invite you to select your own finishes and materials for a bespoke desk that will hold its own in any interior design scheme.

River Dining Table

The River dining table is a design that’s sure to catch the eye in any environment. The materials alone appear in a captivating combination of ebonised oak and stainless steel. Our Papillon motif winds its way across the sleek top surface, with the bases below mirroring the same soft curves as they fork and flow through space. This is an entirely new design to our collection – one which speaks to our legacy as a brand simultaneously focused on metal and inspired by the beauty born from careful combinations of materials.

All of these new designs are available to view in person at our London shop in Pimlico Road. They will enjoy pride of place through to January. We hope you’ll stop in to encounter classic materials cast in new forms, as well as the natural beauty of British wood in all its glory. Alternatively, please do get in touch to find out more from afar.
