Gathering around good food and lively conversation is one of life’s great pleasures. It’s an inclination intrinsic to our humanity. Setting the scene can be an immensely satisfying part of the ritual – and it all starts with the perfect dining table. Our designs balance form and function to create beautifully sculptural central points which hold their own over countless languid lunches and longwinded dinners. Many of our dining tables are offered at a generous standard size. Although, because we handcraft each one to order, it’s always possible to make customisations. We can tailor not only the finish, materials, and design details, but also the dimensions. If you’re on the hunt for a dining table for a large group, you’ve come to the right place. Read on to get a sense of what’s possible…
If you’re in the market for a large dining table that doesn’t take over its environment, a double-pedestal option could be the perfect fit. Our Papillon iteration retains a light and elegant effect, thanks to an open format with lots of negative space. The meandering, nature-inspired frameworks which form each pedestal offer a sculptural boost without obstructing sightlines. The lozenge-shaped top is also excellent for gathering in large groups, creating the opportunity for a continuous seating arrangement which curves around each semi-circular end.
Our collection holds a number of double-pedestal dining tables which work beautifully for hosting groups. If you’re inclined towards the lozenge shape, we can adapt many of our designs accordingly. Our Lily double pedestal dining table offers a great example of how we can work on a bespoke basis to reimagine Tom Faulkner classics to work best for you.

If you like the idea of an oval dining table, our new Angel design could fit the bill quite nicely. This is the latest addition to a quintessential Tom Faulkner collection. Its streamlined simplicity makes it exceptionally versatile and open to customisation. The crossed pedestal base is modelled after the feet of Antony Gormley’s ‘Angel of the North’ sculpture, weaving artistry into this dining table’s easy functionality. In this case, however, the forms are extended lengthwise to support an expansive oval tabletop. This creates the opportunity to host large dinner parties where all guests meet eye-to-eye around the table for a convivial feel.

The Avalon is an excellent dining table for hosting. Its neat metal bases make seating plans simple, having removed cumbersome table legs from the equation. The double-pedestal format makes it simple for us to tailor the design to the dimensions of your choice. They also look lovely from above with optional polished bronze top plates which show through a clear glass top for added spark. Our Exe design takes on a more classic style, recasting the traditional refectory table over two metal bases. They both make a beautiful and highly practical central point to a shared meal.

Finding the right dining table often starts with the space in which you’re intending to place it. A rectangular format tends to fit naturally into a floorplan. Introducing rounded corners makes for an even easier flow of movement through a space. It also helps to soften a seating plan, creating a more inclusive feel at the table. Our Vienna rounded rectangle dining table has a flowing, sinuous look to it, amplified by the curved edges of the tabletop. The Vale maintains the same easy functionality in a more purely sleek and contemporary form. Their double-pedestal format allows us to easily customise length, adapting our designs to meet your hosting needs.
We’re always happy to work with you on selecting the right dining table for your lifestyle, or creating bespoke designs to suit your preferences. If you’d like to discuss how we can amend, elongate, or personalise our pieces for your project, please do get in touch.
